A short flight can be the difference between being a law abiding, moral citizen and one that is so offensive that death is the only option. This is perfectly clear when reading about a painter and decorator in Paris, working for Princess Hassa, the daughter of Saudi Arabia’s King Salman. When he was caught taking photographs in her apartment, she ordered her body guard to ‘kill this dog’ as he ‘doesn’t deserve to live’. Although he was not killed, he was reportedly beaten and made to kiss the feet of the Princess.
How deprived of empathy and intelligence do you have to be to feel death is appropriate in such a situation. Empathy is exactly what I would expect this female to possess. To be from a nation with such inequality, for her to have such disregard for others is rather infuriating. I guess I have to come to terms with the fact that no matter how oppressed one portion of society may be, given the chance they too are capable of inflicting what was endured.
